You may remember a few months ago, one of the NFL wives caused quite a stir on social media when she was arrested during a Miami Dolphins game. Miko Grimes, the wife of Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes, got into an altercation with police outside of Sun Life Stadium when she tried to walk through a restricted area. They yelled at her to stop and when she refused to comply, one of the cops grabbed her by the arm. Grimes started yelling obscenities and trying to fight off the cops, and she also charged at an officer. After she was subdued and handcuffed, she then allegedly head-butted an officer. Grimes was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest.
During a court hearing on Monday, prosecutors decided to drop all charges related to the incident. The battery charge had previously been dropped and the resisting arrest charge had been downgraded to a misdemeanor. The prosecution decided to drop the remaining charges this week based on “irreconcilable differences in witness testimony”.
The family’s lawyer tells the Sun Sentinel, “Miko and Brent are extremely happy to have this behind them and do appreciate the efforts of the state attorney, who looked at extremely serious allegations and dismissed the charges.”
