Rapper Lul Tim is reportedly no longer facing murder charges in connection to King Von‘s fatal shooting.
According to XXL, a lawyer representing the rapper, whose real name is Timothy Leeks, confirmed the dismissal of charges on August 20.
“The case against Mr. Leeks was dismissed prior to ever being indicted,” he said in response to the speculation that his client was no longer being prosecuted for the murder of the Chicago rapper.
Lul Tim was arrested and charged with felony murder a day after King Von was fatally shot outside an Atlanta Hookah lounge in November 2020.
According to authorities, a violent altercation took place between two groups during the early hours outside the Monaco Hookah Lounge. One group included Von, while the other had Tim and Quando Rondo among its members. This confrontation escalated into a shootout, leaving three dead and others wounded.
Lul Tim was granted a $100,000 bond in March 2021 but his legal troubles did not end there. The rapper is still facing several drug and traffic charges relating to an October 2022 arrest following a car chase with police.
Following the news of the murder charges being dropped, Tim shared a new song, “Left a Stain,” in which he references the case.
“I told ’em about my good news/ I’m about to beat this case,” he raps.
