Alleged Diddy Associate Will Avoid Jail Time in Drug Case, to Enter Diversion Program

Brendan Paul

State attorneys in Florida announced Tuesday that Brendan Paul, an associate of Sean “Diddy” Combs had his remaining drug charge dismissed after completing a pretrial diversion program.

Paul, 25, was arrested earlier this year at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport after police discovered cocaine and marijuana-laced candy in his possession. Miami-Dade authorities initially charged him with possession of both substances but later decided to prosecute only the cocaine charge.

Paul’s arrest came during a period of increased scrutiny surrounding Diddy. At the time, Homeland Security agents conducted highly publicized raids on Diddy’s properties in both Miami Beach and Los Angeles, intensifying public interest. While authorities haven’t directly tied Paul’s arrest to those investigations, the case gained significant attention due to his alleged role as a mule for Diddy’s drugs and firearms, as claimed in a civil lawsuit filed by Combs’ former producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones.

On Tuesday, nine months after his arrest, the remaining charge against Paul was formally dismissed. Prosecutors confirmed Paul successfully completed a six-month pretrial diversion program—a course typically offered to first-time offenders. Court records show he met all requirements, including attending a drug substance abuse class.

Paul’s attorney, Brian Bieber, told the Miami NBC affiliate, “Mr. Paul’s case was formally dismissed today – in its entirety.”
