Radio host and media personality Charlamagne Tha God is coming to our screens with a new digital show that intends to highlight emerging, upcoming figures in Hollywood.
The Hollywood Reporter reported the new show is called “Emerging Hollywood” and will be a video series that features up and coming people in the entertainment industry. Some of the conversations will revolve around inclusion, racial politics, gender and body positivity with Charlamagne as the host. But Charlamgane won’t be tackling the show on his own; he will have the help of news-making guest hosts including Trevor Noah, Jameela Jamil, Killer Mike Alan Yang, and Dascha Polanco.
According to THR, each episode of Emerging Hollywood will consist of three stand-alone chapters with the following themes: “Where I Came From,” “What I’m About” and “Where I’m Going.” Each segment will be five to seven minutes and will detail how the guest’s life experience shaped his or her views, current activism, and vision for what’s next.
“I don’t do interviews. I do conversations,” said Charlamagne. “I love conversations because through conversation, you hear people’s stories, and through people’s stories, you get information and inspiration. That’s all I want people to get out of these conversations is information and inspiration.” THR will be exclusively producing the new show, and it will be executive produced by Shira Brown, Matthew Belloni, Jennifer Laski, Lenard “CThaGod” McKelvey, and Karen Kinney and is produced by Victoria McKillop and Francine Nazario from The Hollywood Reporter.
The show is set to premiere May 2 and will continue weekly episodes every Thursday exclusively on THR.com, YouTube and other digital partners.
