Charlamagne tha God is making it clear he won’t be bullied after Donald Trump called him out by name during a late-night rant on Truth Social.
The radio host and author had just appeared on My View with Lara Trump, where he shared his opinion that the ongoing controversy surrounding Jeffrey Epstein could trigger a shift in the Republican Party. Charlamagne said he believes traditional conservatives may be preparing to take back control from the MAGA base and used the Epstein investigation as a key example.
Trump did not take that lightly.
In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump tore into Charlamagne, calling him a “racist sleazebag” and a “low IQ individual.” Trump questioned why Charlamagne is even allowed to call himself “The God,” suggesting there would be public outrage if Trump had used a similar name.

“He has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth and knows nothing about me or what I have done,” Trump wrote, defending his presidential record by listing everything from ending wars to lowering inflation and shutting down borders.
Trump didn’t mention Charlamagne’s Epstein remarks directly but made it clear he was upset that the Breakfast Club host was criticizing him on Lara Trump’s platform. Trump continued by mocking Charlamagne’s political opinions, asking how he could consider voting for “Sleepy Joe or Kamala” and calling him a “dope.”
Charlamagne wasted no time firing back.
Posting to Instagram, he responded with a message: “President Trump was better off going after Urkel because he is really scraping the bottom of the Black barrel coming at me.”

Charlamagne added that Trump has a pattern of attacking prominent Black figures and now seems to be targeting him for speaking the truth.
“You can’t go from MLK Jr, President Obama, Oprah, Beyoncé to a sleazebag named Lenard,” he said sarcastically, referring to his own government name.
The radio host stood by his comments from My View, saying he absolutely believes there’s a political coup happening in the Republican Party. He thanked Lara Trump for giving him the opportunity to share that perspective and made it clear he wasn’t backing down from the discussion.
The back-and-forth has only intensified the spotlight on the Epstein scandal and its impact on the GOP. Last month, the Department of Justice and FBI released a memo stating Epstein died by suicide and no “incriminating client list” existed. The MAGA base has remained skeptical, fueling tension within the party.
Charlamagne believes that this could be the crack that allows old-school conservatives to push MAGA aside without losing their base. Trump’s angry reaction shows just how seriously he’s taking that possibility.
