A U.K. man may have just become the first person to get exposed for cheating, thanks to the Coronavirus.
According to Reuters, the unnamed patient, a man in his late 30s — described as “well-heeled and with a high-flying job” — told his wife he was away on a business trip within the UK but was really frolicking around Italy on a romantic vacation with his mistress.
A report in the Sun claims after the man returned home, he began showing symptoms of the deadly bug, and tests positively confirmed that he was infected.
“The man confessed [to doctors] that he’d been to Italy, and that his wife has no idea,” the source said. “She thinks he just picked up the disease on his business trip away.”
Currently, the man’s wife is only aware that he has COVID-19, and she has remained isolated in the couple’s lavish home in northern England.
“The patient is just relieved he got home before flights were canceled — that would have taken some explaining. He’s in a blind panic, but more about his adultery being exposed rather than his health,” the source claimed.
The man admitted the affair to his doctors, but he refused to identify the woman, according to the report.
