Chicago Bears Fire Ray Mcdonald Following Domestic Violence Arrest

Chicago Bears defensive end, Ray McDonald was arrested on domestic violence and child endangerment charges yesterday. The incident took place in San Jose, CA around 7am. Reports say McDonald physically assaulted his former fiancee at his home while she was carrying a baby and after the assault went to former 49ers teammate Justin Smith’s house, where he was arrested.

This isn’t the first time Ray McDonald has assaulted his fiancee, however. Back in August McDonald was arrested for domestic violence also. His fiancee showed visible injuries yet no charges were filed.

The Bears have since released Ray from the team. “We believe in second chances, but when we signed Ray, we were very clear what our expectations were if he was to remain a Bear,” General Manager Ryan Pace said in a statement. “He was not able to meet the standard, and the decision was made to release him.”
