A 15-year-old boy was killed after he was shot 24 times on his way to buy snacks at a Chicago gas station.
Sincere Cole was fatally injured on Saturday night in the Chicago Lawn area when the unidentified gunman opened fire.
Authorities haven’t yet disclosed if they have any suspects in his death and Cole’s family are begging the public to come forward if they witnessed anything.
Cole’s aunt and legal guardian, Brandy Martin told the media, “I’ve got to stand up here and scream from inside out and make sure I get the word out so he won’t be another name, another number, another tag.”
Martin described her nephew as an “ambitious” child who had taken initiative to improve his life.
The family hopes surveillance footage from cameras near the gas station will help police solve the crime.
