Chick-fil-A is celebrating 80 years by taking its drinks back to the basics, and fans are already paying attention.
As part of its year-long anniversary rollout, Chick-fil-A is spotlighting two new treats that lean heavily into nostalgia: Frosted Sodas and Floats. The drinks officially arrived on menus on Monday, January 5, and are designed to evoke the feel of something you would order at an old-school soda counter.
Frosted Sodas are blended beverages made with Chick-fil-A’s signature Icedream vanilla soft serve. Customers can mix the ice cream with one of eight fountain drinks, including Dr Pepper, Coke, Sprite, Hi-C Fruit Punch, and several diet and zero sugar options. The result is creamy, sweet, and customizable depending on how bold or classic you want to go.
Floats offer a slightly different experience. Instead of blending everything together, these drinks layer the soda and Icedream, giving each sip that familiar float finish. The Floats are a direct nod to retro soda shop culture and will remain on the menu permanently, making them more than just a limited anniversary drop.
The move fits perfectly with Chick-fil-A’s 80th anniversary theme, which centers on honoring the brand’s roots while keeping things fun and accessible. No complicated ingredients, no over the top twists, just simple combinations that tap into comfort and nostalgia.
After decades of chicken sandwiches and waffle fries, Chick-fil-A is reminding fans that sometimes the drinks deserve their own moment, too.
