The FBI has opened an investigation into two home burglaries in Kansas City involving the residences of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce early in October. It is reported that on October 6th, in Bolton, Missouri, at the star quarterback’s estate, the police responded to a reported burglary. Mahomes was not named in the police report; however, the addresses provided, with reaffirmation from public documents, matched one another.
There was no sign of forced entry. On October 7th, right after the kickoff of the Monday Night Football game between Kansas City and New Orleans, star tight end Travis Kelce’s Leawood, Kansas, property was also targeted in an apparent robbery. TMZ first reported that $20,000 in cash was stolen, and the backdoor was also damaged, according to police reports.
Kelce still has not been vocal about the situation, while Mahomes gave a brief insight into the personal situation when speaking with the media earlier this week.
“I can’t get into too many details because the investigation is still ongoing,” the three-time Super Bowl winner told reporters. “But obviously something that you don’t want to happen to really anybody, obviously yourself.”
In the last three games, the duo’s connection has been on display as the Kansas City Chiefs sit at 9-0. Mahomes has thrown for six touchdowns, two to Travis Kelce and one interception. Kelce has 32 catches for 254 yards in the last three games. Through all the chaos on and off the field, the Chiefs have a three-peat on their mind.
