TikTok has once again shown its ability to move fast food culture forward with the forthcoming Chipotle fajita quesadilla.
If you’ve been active on the video-sharing platform in recent months, then you’re likely familiar with the trend known as “Chipotle Cheesesteak,” made popular by content creators Keith Lee and Alexis Frost. The viral recipe consisted of ordering a steak quesadilla and adding extra cheese and fajita veggies, which many compared to a classic Philly cheesesteak. Many TikTokers flocked to Chipotle locations nationwide to get their hands on this creation, which caused strains on supply. This placed added pressure on employees, who also expressed their grievances online.
@chipotle You’ve waited long enough. See you in the Chipotle app on 3/2.
@just.livn Finally had the chance to try this Chipotle Quesadilla “cheesesteak” 8/10. #chipotlecheesesteak #chipotlehacks #quesadilla #foodtiktok #chipotle #foodlover
To satisfy workers and customers, the restaurant decided to make the quesadilla a permanent menu staple. To pay homage to the creators behind this mouthwatering handheld, Chipotle has created limited-edition menu items inspired by both loyal foodies. Lee’s offering is being dubbed the “Keithadilla.” This delicious pressed sandwich is a fajita quesadilla with steak, roasted chili-corn salsa, and sour cream, complete with Chipotle-honey vinaigrette on the side. As for Frost’s “Fajita Quesadilla Hack,” customers will also get a fajita quesadilla with steak, roasted chili-corn salsa, tomatillo red-chili salsa, and sour cream on the side.
Keith Lee said he is “blessed” to work alongside Frost and Chipotle, calling his creation “a 10 out of 10.”
These new additions will be available starting March 2nd but must be ordered through the Chipotle app, likely to prevent long wait times.
