Chloe Bailey’s name has been thrown around lately; this time, it’s because of her latest and first TV sex scene in an episode of ‘Swarm.’
Donald Glover released his latest last week, which features a sex scene between Chloe Bailey and Damson Idris. But a lot of people frown upon it. And now there’s a debate on racism and colorism in Hollywood, oh, and Halle Berry.
Some critics are questioning Bailey’s latest career choices. First, there was controversy over her single that features Chris Brown, and now her sex scene.
“Where is a Chloe Bailey’s mentor pls??? She’s been making terrible decisions lately, she should have never done that sex scene in Swarm and I’m not even gonna go into her most recent collab,” one user tweeted.
But then the convo compared Bailey to Berry. “Halle Berry getting back shots role got her an Oscar right?” Contrary to how it’s read, this user supported Bailey’s choice by saying Berry took career risks which ended up working out for her, so Chloe’s may too.
But then came the subject of Berry’s lighter skin tone and accusations that Berry has benefited off of “whiteness.” One Twitter user went into detail about Berry fitting Hollywood’s traditional white European beauty standard more so than Chloe, or any other dark-skinned Black woman, TMZ reported.
The tweeter also believes Berry has had an easier time in the industry because of her “white-passing” and that colorism still exists, which implies it may not work the same for Chloe, who she says will learn the hard way.
Regardless, only time will tell, and Chloe can make her own career decisions.
