Chloe Bailey shocked fans when she announced that her album “Trouble In Paradise” would be arriving this Friday. Judging by the tracklist and first snippet, listeners are in for a treat.
Bailey’s announcement arrived on Monday, August 5th, when she shared the cover art on her social media platforms. “Trouble In Paradise” is her sophomore solo effort, following last year’s “In Pieces.” The March 2023 project moved just 10,000 units in its first week, a topic of conversation on social media in the days following its release. Thankfully, this slow start did not deter Bailey, though she admitted to HelloBeautiful in an interview released Wednesday that the constant chatter sometimes gets to her.
“Sometimes it’s hard because you can’t help but hear the loud background noise. And I admire myself maybe four or five years ago because people’s opinions didn’t matter that much to me. I was a little more fearless,” she told he outlet. “But I also think that it’s OK to take constructive criticism, and it’s OK to decide what you want to listen to and what you don’t want to listen to and how you can apply it to yourself.”
Surprisingly, despite the little notice, Bailey has revealed key details about her project. “Trouble In Paradise” will be comprised of 16 tracks. Much like “In Pieces,” Bailey employed several heavy hitters for the project. Ty Dolla Sign, Anderson Paak, YG Marley, and Jeremih all lent their vocals to the album, an indicator that R&B melodies will be felt throughout the body of work. One of the most anticipated moments on the album is track number 10, which reunites Bailey with sister Halle for the title, “Want Me.”
It should be noted that Bailey began her album rollout months ago. She introduced two singles ahead of her announcement, “FYS” in March and “Boy Bye” in April. Both records will be included on “Trouble In Paradise.”
