Let’s talk about these sandals.
Chloé just dropped a designer remix of something many of us grew up wearing in the summer—jellies. But this time, they come with a serious glow-up and a luxury price tag. At $590, these aren’t the sparkly plastic flats from your childhood. Instead, they’re fashion-forward, high-end footwear featuring transparent TPU, a low kitten heel shaped like a seashell, and an adjustable ankle strap for added sophistication.
The French fashion house took the nostalgic jelly sandal and gave it a couture upgrade. The sole has a soft wavy curve for added flair, and if you look closely, you’ll spot an oversized Chloé logo stamped into the design—because if you’re going to pay that much, you want people to know it’s designer.
But the question is, are these really worth the price? Or are they just expensive copies of what we used to snag for $5 from Payless or the beauty supply?
Let’s be honest—jellies in the ‘80s and ‘90s were iconic. Cheap, colorful, and sometimes blister-inducing, they were a summer staple for little girls everywhere. We wore them to the pool, the playground, and sometimes even church if Mom thought they were “dressy” enough.
So now that we’re grown, is Chloé’s version a fashion full-circle moment, or are we being sold back our own nostalgia for 100x the cost?
Would you rock these designer jellies or leave them on the shelf? Sound off in the comments.
Let’s talk:
• Would you pay nearly $600 for designer jellies?
• Do you think this is a chic upgrade or just overpriced nostalgia?
• Are throwback styles getting out of control?
Let the fashion debate begin.
