Chris Brown Avoids Jail Time in Illegal Monkey Possession Case

Chris Brown has been banned from all monkey business for 6 months after reaching a deal with the D.A in his illegal pet case.

Last year, Brown was charged with 2 counts of having a restricted species without a permit.

Wednesday morning, the judge put Brown into a diversion program over the monkey, which he bought in 2017.

The term forbids the singer from purchasing any monkeys until June 6, 2020. He is also required to pay $35,000 to the monkey retreat facility.

If Brown completes the program, all charges will be dropped. After the program, the singer will also be allowed to own monkeys again, but the monkey must be non-restricted and have its papers.

The monkey retreat will decide if Chris Brown can have visitation with his former pet.
