Mercury must be in retrograde again because everything that could be going wrong for celebs, is. According to reports, Chris Brown has been barred from leaving the Philippines due to a contract dispute. He was stopped Wednesday morning when trying to leave Manila to Hong Kong on his private jet.Â
Chris performed in Manila Tuesday evening, as planned, but it was an issue prior to this that is causing all of his frustration. On Tuesday, an order was placed on Chris to stop him from attempting to leave the country. The influential Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ), a prominent religious group,  alleges that Chris failed to appear for a performance at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, north of Manila, on New Year’s Eve. The order was to compel Chris to pay them back the money they fronted him before the no-show.
According to CNN, The Bureau of Immigration says if Chris and his promoter John Michael Pio Roda want to leave the country,  they must seek a clearance certificate stating he no longer has any legal obligations in the Philippines. Prosecutors are still investigating the complaint to see whether or not criminal charges should be filed against Chris.
