Just hours after news surfaced of Chris Brown’s detention over allegations of rape and other drug offenses, the superstar singer has been released without charges.
On Monday, after Paris police launched an investigation into a woman’s complaint, in which she accused Brown, his bodyguard and another man of raping her in his hotel last week, the singer was detained for questioning.
However, as news continued to surface amid a detailed interview by the alleged victim, Brown and two other women, who claimed to be in the hotel at the time of the alleged incident, denied the singer had any involvement.
“I wanna make it perfectly clear,” Brown said underneath a photo that read, “This bitch lyin’.” “This is false and a whole lot of cap. Never! For my daughter and my family this is so disrespectful and is against my character and morals.”
But now, after hours of questioning and social media support, Brown has been released without charges. In fact, according to the New York Times, Paris prosecutors say the two other men, who were detained with Brown, were also released without charges. In the meantime, according to Paris officials, the investigation is still ongoing.
