Chris Brown reveals that he will no longer be performing at the 2022 American Music Awards.
Early Saturday morning, Chris posted a 7-minute video of what would’ve been his AMA performance. The video begins with some choreography of him and two female dancers performing to his single “Under The Influence.”
The choreography then transitions into a tribute to Michael Jackson. Chris and his background dancers performs some of Michael’s famous moves to songs like “Beat It” and “Thriller.”
As good as the performance is, fans will only get to see it via Instagram. Chris shared in the comment section of the post that the AMA’s canceled his performance for unspecified reasons.
“Would’ve been the ama performance but they cancelled me for reasons unknown🤷🏾♂️,” the singer wrote.
Nia Guzman, the mother of Chris’s daughter Royalty, chimed in and gave her baby’s father some encouraging words.
“F*ck them…you the 🐐! The ⭐️! All the hard work and dedication you gave this last week was remarkable. Your children are proud,” Guzman said.
For years many people have believed Chris’s past has kept him from rising the higher levels in his career. Just this week, Akon told Shannon Sharpe that Chris could’ve rose to Michael Jackson status if he didn’t have gang ties around him.
“I just believe that Chris Brown wasn’t surrounded by the circle of creative people that Mike was surrounded by. Because Chris got the talent, he just needed the direction,” Akon said. “Imagine if Chris had Mike’s team? Just imagine that. It would be something different. But Chris, he got Bloods around him, he got little gangbangers around him. He don’t have the guidance. He’s smart, but he’s smart according to what this generation’s ‘smart’ attracts.”
