Amid criticisms over a line in Chris Brown’s brand new song, “Need a Stack,” the R&B singer is now facing legal issues over child support for his daughter, Royalty.
In new court docs obtained by The Blast, Brown’s baby mother, Nia Guzman, accused Brown of failing to pay child support and prolonging the process, by ignoring notices in relation to the legal battle. According to Guzman, Brown was ordered to pay more than $17,000 in support in February but has yet to cough up a payment.
In addition, Guzman said Brown “has repeatedly engaged in conduct that dramatically increased the cost of litigation,” adding that, “He has ignored deposition notices, offered to participate in mediation in a court hearing then failed to even respond to potential mediation dates when proposed, and ignored settlement offers altogether.”
Since Guzman is unemployed, she relied heavily on Brown’s support, so she says his failure to pay has created “a great hardship” for her and their daughter. As a result, Guzman is demanding $258,285.24 in back support, including retroactive support. She also wants sanctions and “the value of housing that the singer agreed to supply.”
