In Las Vegas, the NBPA met to vote on a new executive committee. The union’s former President Derek Fisher’s term had expired. Chris Paul was serving as the union’s vice president and voted in as President. The Executive committee includes first Vice President Roger Mason, Lakers Steve Blake and Bobcats Anthony Tolliver as Vice Presidents.
According to ABC News, the NBPA is in turmoil as the former Executive Director Billy Hunter filed a wrongful-termination lawsuit against Derek Fisher. Hunter accused Fisher of conspiring with league officials during the 2011 lockout. Hopefully Chris Paul has been paying attention to what has been going on and will help move the NBPA forward.
