Chris Rock finally broke his silence after Will Smith walked on stage and slapped him at the 2022 Academy Awards.
According to Variety, the legendary comedian started his comedy show in Boston last night by asking the audience, “How was your weekend?”
Rock was welcomed to the stage with a rally of thunderous applause, which included two standing ovations.
Following the laughs from his opening line, he shared, “I don’t have a bunch of s–t about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend,” he explained to the audience.
Rock promised to address the incident in his own way but admitted that he’s still trying to process the “slap heard round the world.”
“I’m still kind of processing what happened,” he revealed. “So, at some point, I’ll talk about that s–t. And it will be serious and funny.”
