Chris Rock is putting on his director’s hat for a new #KevinHart film.
Chris Rock will be teaming up with Will Packer to produce a comedy titled “Coparenting” for Universal Pictures. The comedy, which will star Hart, will be written by “Black-Ish” writer Yamara Taylor. The film will tell the story of a stay-at-home dad who takes care of his kids while his CEO wife works. Things fall apart once the wife files for divorce, which leaves the man in financial and emotional hardship. The two end up fighting over the custody of their children and other marital issues.
The project is based on a concept created by Rock and Hart. Working on the producing team with Packer is James Lopez through Will Packer Productions. Rock will also serve as a producer through his company Chris Rock Enterprises. Overseeing the film is Universal Executive Vice President of Production Kristin Lowe with John Cheng and Carli Haney, serving those roles for Hartbeat.
Rock made his directorial debut with the 2014 comedy “Top Five,” which started Rosario Dawson and Gabrielle Union.
