Chris Watts, a Colorado man that is serving a life sentence for killing his pregnant wife and two daughters in 2018, is not liked by other inmates at Dodge Correctional Institution in Wisconsin, according to a report from People magazine.
“No one wants anything to do with him,” a source told People magazine. “He’s on the lowest social tier of the entire prison. He’s in protective custody because if he’s around other inmates, he’d be in real danger. He’s an outcast, even among criminals.”
Watts, who celebrated his 36th birthday on Sunday, strangled his 15 weeks pregnant wife, Shanann Watts in 2018. He took her body to a job site at an oil company he worked for and buried her. He smothered his two daughters, Bella,4, and Celeste, 3, afterward.
“He’s probably the most hated man in that prison,” the source told the magazine. “[B]ecause he killed children. There’s a definite pecking order in jail, and someone who hurts or kills kids are at the very bottom.”
Watts said that he strangled his wife after she threatened that he would never see their children again when he told her that their marriage was over.
Authorities suspect that he killed his family because he was having an affair.
