Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Announce Miscarriage of Baby Jack

Written By @cabbagepatchgrl

Our condolences go out to Chrissy Teigen, and John Legend as the couple announced that they suffered a miscarriage this Wednesday.

The wife, mother, and author took time to share her heartbreaking experience with fans, posting a black and white photo of herself crying in the hospital along with a message filled with pain, hurt, and even gratitude. “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough,” Teigen wrote.

“We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital,” She said, “But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever. To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.”

“We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But every day can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it,” her post continued.

Teigen and husband John Legend have two other children, which they have conceived through IVF treatment. The couple announced that they were expecting their third child in her husband’s latest music video, “Wild.”

Later that Wednesday, Teigen tweeted, “Driving home from the hospital with no baby. How can this be real.”

On September 28, Teigen shared that she would be put on bed rest for a couple of weeks. Her bed rest was extended when she was later hospitalized for “excessive bleeding.” She said on her social media accounts, “I guess in the simplest of terms, we can say my placenta is really, really weak.” She continued, “I feel really good. The baby is so healthy, growing stronger than Luna or Miles. He moves a lot. He moves so much earlier than they ever did.”

She said, “He’s strong. I’m so excited for him because he’s so wonderful, the strongest little dude,” later adding, “So, I can’t wait for him.”

Prayers to the couple!
