Chrissy Teigen Celebrates 6 Months Sober, “Happier” Than Ever

Chrissy Teigen celebrated six months of sobriety in an inspirational Instagram post on Wednesday.

She says, “6 months no alcohol! Honestly kind of sucks saying it because even though I don’t ever crave it now, time has not exactly flown by haha.” The model admits she was tired of day drinking and not sleeping.

“I prob won’t be excited til a larger milestone like at leasssst 5 years, and sometimes I don’t even know if I necessarily won’t ever drink again? I have no idea what I’m doing honestly, but I do know a few things: I now have endless energy, way less anxiety (no more benzos!) and I am *happier* and more present than ever.”

The 36-year-old didn’t have an easy 2021; she constantly found herself in countless social media battles and a recent cyberbullying scandal with Courtney Stodden. Fans discovered threatening tweets of the model bullying Stodden for her controversial marriage at 16-years-old with Doug Hutchison.

Teigen’s post continues, “I look forward to having my full body reset after 1 year, then reevaluating to see my new hopes and wishes for the future! Let’s goooo.”

Though the journey hasn’t been easy, she received support from her husband, John Legend. The singer commented, “so proud of you my love.”

Teigen announced in September to fully take on sobriety and was 50 days sober. The cookbook author cut sips of wine out of her journey in December 2020.
