On Monday, a judge sentenced a Texas radio host to three life sentences, plus 30 years for running a Ponzi scheme. The self-proclaimed “Money Doctor” defrauded his elderly listeners of millions of dollars.

William Neil “Doc” Gallagher, 80, pleaded guilty to charges related to the scheme back in August. More than a dozen of his senior victims testified during the hearing Monday. The court listened while they detailed losing between $50,000 and $600,000 by investing in Gallagher Financial Group.

Gallagher ran the faulty financial group and advertised on Christian Radio. He used the tagline “See you in church on Sunday.” He also advertised in books, with titles like Jesus Christ, Money Master. He reportedly schemed his clients out of $32 million.

“’Doc’ Gallagher is one of the worst offenders I have seen,” said the chief of the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Elder Financial Fraud team Lori Varnell. “He ruthlessly stole from his clients who trusted him for almost a decade.”

The former radio host has been in jail since being arrested on similar charges in Dallas County back in 2019. He pleaded guilty to those charges in 2020 and received a 25-year sentence.
