No, this isn’t shade and I’m not making some sad attempt at a joke. Ciara is indeed selling her self titled, fifth studio album on Groupon. I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing. I’m not sure how to feel at all actually. I mean, Jay Z gave away free albums to Samsung users, Kanye West broadcast his music video on buildings and J. Cole had listening sessions straight off the smart phone. Maybe she’s being innovative? Kind of like Lil Kim selling her CD on Paypal.

After selling only 59k copies first week, it seems like her label has gone all out to make sure they can recoup something off Ciara.
You can now cop not only her current album, but a “Greatest Hits” album off groupon for $13.99. You really can’t beat this deal. Not only do you get an album that you might’ve kinda wanted, but you get an album full of hits that you really want. Sounds like a win/win to me. A win/win for everyone not named Ciara.
Ciara dropped her album on July 5th. Is it too early to make such desperate attempts at sales? Worst comes to worst, Ci Ci would make a GREAT Givenchy model.
