Cincinnati Teacher Charged For Sexually Abusing 28-First Graders: “They Would Compete For His Attention”

A Cincinnati Physical Education teacher has been charged for sexually abusing 28 first graders and touching dozens more.

According to WCPO Cincinnati, Austin Hopkins was video recorded inside the gymnasium touching at least 88 little girls from December 2018 to March 2019.

In the video, Hopkins was seen “placing many of the girls on his lap, straddling him in what I would describe as a sexual manner.” It also shows him “putting his hands up their shirts and skirts,” according to Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell.

The prosecutor continued, “A lot of these little girls would compete for his attention during the class … One of these little girls he had convinced that they were going to get married when they were older.”

The video was submitted to the grand jury, and Hopkins was indicted on 36 counts of gross sexual imposition. The penalty for one count of gross sexual imposition can be up to five years in prison.
