The City Girls are bringing the heat this Summer, which will be a testament to their undeniable growth over the years.
JT and Yung Miami recently sat down with Complex about their forthcoming highly anticipated album. The release will serve as their first full body of work since 2020’s “City On Lock.” When speaking to the outlet, the ladies admitted that the delay in the album was due to them chasing perfection with their new records. Additionally, they each embarked on solo endeavors that briefly paused the music.
“I feel the problem was we were trying to put out the perfect song, but that turned into a project. We got a lot coming,” JT told Complex in an exclusive interview.
Their 2018 debut mixtape, “Period,” helped put the ladies on the map. At one point, JT and Yung Miami were chasing the same impact and success as that project. However, the ladies knew they needed to take their time to show growth while remaining true to their sound, a process that JT stamped as “elevated p***y rap.”
With the upcoming album, which will have at least 17 new tracks, the duo is firm in their stance that they are indeed two of the GOATS, referring to themselves as “legends.”
The album’s name has not been unveiled, but the ladies have confirmed it will arrive this Summer. Recently, they have released several new singles, “Good Love” alongside Usher, “Act Bad,” which features Fabolous and Diddy, and “I Need a Thug,” all of which paint a vivid picture of what’s to come.
