The entertainment and comedy in clap backs have brought the enjoyment of scrolling down our social media feeds to a whole new level.
Whether you’re on Twitter following some of your favorite celebrities’ rant, or clicking “view all 5,000 comments” on Instagram, by now you’ve probably noticed who some of the most savage Clap Back Kings and Queens on social media are.
What makes up a great clap back? Well, we’ve come up with three must-haves:
1. The timing has to be perfect, you have to take advantage of the opportunity of a great clap back, while the matter is relevant.
2. Make it personal and state a fact. Get creative with what’s known about a person and hit ’em where it hurts.
3. Lastly, a great clap back also has to demolish the original diss or comment made. The clap back has to be more savage and carefully constructed.
Now that we’ve established what makes a great clap back, here are Baller Alert’s Clap Back Kings & Queens that have mastered the art of savagery in 2019, starting with none other than 50 Cent.
There are two things you should never do with 50 Cent and that’s borrow and money from him, or have beef with him. 50 Cent doesn’t have any boundaries when it comes to getting the last laugh and he proves this to be true on a regular basis. 50 has been in an on-going feud with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and when Mayweather took to Instagram to state all of the other rappers who have had a more successful career than 50, the rapper responded on Twitter by saying, “Tell Floyd I said he won he is the greatest of all time. and nobody I mean nobody can ever take that away from him what he’s done with his life is amazing. I’m done with all of the back and forth. Now Can Someone Please Read This To Champ.#POSTIVE VIBES”.
This list wouldn’t be legit without Chrissy Teigen. If there’s one person you can almost guarantee a knockout clap back from, it’s Chrissy, and no one’s off-limits, not even the president of the United States. When Trump thought he could indirectly call out the model on Instagram, for not acknowledging the positive work he has done, she had a few words for him as well. His tweet stated, “Musician @johnlegend, and his filthy mouthed wife, are talking now about how great it is – but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed.” Well, Teigen didn’t waste much time before she fired right back by saying, “Lol what a pussy ass bitch. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president.”
Like Teigen, Masika Kalysha almost always has a perfect clap back for any negativity that comes her way and you can always count on her bringing a double dose of savagery. On a seductive Instagram image Masika posted of herself, with her legs wide open and one leg propped up on what appears to be a vanity table of some sort, a concerned critic took it upon themselves to write, “Ummm sis, your balls are falling out in the first pic.” Using all of the must-haves of a great clap back, Masika came for the kill and wrote, “I took them from the man that’s missing in all ur family pictures.” Ouch!
The Game is also no stranger to savagery and if you’re going to come for him, you better be on point. One person on Instagram apparently didn’t get the memo and wrote, “Delete” under a picture that The Game posted of himself, from back when he was in the 5th grade. The Game replied back by writing, “Says the nigga in the plastic puffy coat & gas station glasses with the car wash towel in the background.”
We often wonder why anyone would feel compelled to come for Ms. Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty, and we usually can’t come up with a justified reason. In an unusual way of throwing shade at Rihanna’s forehead, while also putting themselves down, one user on IG decided to comment on a seductive video of the singer lathering her body with the Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb 2 glitter body powder by saying, “Ur forehead shines brighter than my future.” In good ole Rihanna fashion, she gathered them and sounded off with, “There’s still hope for you then.”
Speaking of gathering, comedian Kevin Hart is no stranger to having to gather those trying to make a joke out of him. In what appeared to be a friendly but ferocious clap back, Hart went straight for the jugular when rapper Meek Mill came on his page playfully body shaming him. Hart posted a picture of himself with boxers on and no shirt, as he was promoting his underwear ad campaign with Tommy John. Meek wrote under the picture, “Ya body not ready for that yet lol.” Well, Hart didn’t think Meek was in the position to talk and responded by saying, “You better shut yo duffel bag build body ass up man.”
Cardi B has also never been afraid to speak her mind and that’s a big reason why her fans love her. After the Bodak Yellow rapper shared her thoughts about the ongoing government shutdown at the time, Tomi Lahren decided to take to Twitter to say, “Looks like @iamcardib is the latest genius political mind to endorse the Democrats.” Cardi hit back by saying, “Leave me alone I will dog walk you.” Tomi, who clearly often thinks she’s Billy Badass replied back by saying, “I’m sure you would. Still doesn’t make your political rambling any less moronic. #BuildthatWall.” Cardi responded, “You’re so blinded with racism that you don’t even realize the decisions the president you root for is destroying the country you claim to love so much.You are a perfect example on no matter how educated or smart you think you are you still a SHEEP!”
Chris Brown is also another artist who doesn’t try to be politically correct and is ‘bout it’ if you come for him. Chvrches, a band from Scotland, did just that when expressing on a post on IG, that they were disappointed in DJ Marshmello’s choice to collaborate and work with Tyga and Chris Brown, who they described as people who are “predators and abusers”. While Tyga responded by telling them that no one’s perfect, Chris clapped back with a whole different type of energy and his response started off by calling them a, “BUNCH OF LOSERS”. He continued by saying, “These are the type of people I wish walked in front of a speeding bus of mental patients. Keep groveling over your own insecurities and hatred. IM BLACK AND PROUD. AND I KNOW ITS HURTS YOU THAT U GUYS ARE STRUGGLING WIT LIFE OR PEACE SO U ARE FORCED TO SEE MY SUCCESS. You aren’t even #2 (REMEMBER 2nd place only means YOU LOST FIRST! TA-TA. GOODAY PEASANTS.”
Like Brown, Tamar Braxton is always up for a good drag, including the time she drug Olympian Lolo Jones on Instagram. It all started when Lolo posted a video of herself prepping for the summer Olympics while shading former Celebrity Big Brother alliance member Ricky Williams, who was responsible for evicting her from the house. Tamar commented under the video telling Lolo that it was just a game and that she needed to get over it. Well, Lolo responded back by saying, “Hey girl! It was just a joke. But use the 240k and buy some more wigs. #stillloveya Cant wait to see ya.” Tamar threw major shade right back by commenting, “I will buy me a wig right after you buy you a husband #noshade #justjokes #letsgotodinner.”
