Los Angeles Clippers Branden Dawson will not face charges stemming from his domestic violence incident on March 13.
Dawson was arrested for allegedly roughing up his live-in girlfriend at their L.A. home. No other details were made available at the time.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office, stated that due to insufficient evidence charges won’t be pursued.
In the weeks leading up to the decision, Dawson remained confident that things would work out in his favor. “I was baffled by the whole thing. My career and everything can be taken away so fast. That was the one thing I was nervous about, but I never had a doubt in my mind. I knew what happened that night, so I knew the truth was going to come to light,” said Dawson. He added, “I’m not that kind of guy. I’m not a criminal. That’s not me.”
Hopefully Dawson, who spent three weeks away from the Clippers while the process played out, can now put this incident behind him.
