Just 11 days after San Francisco’s #ColinKaepernick debuted his police brutality protest by sitting during the National Anthem, the backup QB is growing in popularity. As of Tuesday morning, Kaepernick’s jersey is the highest selling jersey in the league.
The #7 jersey, which has now surpassed the sales of both #TomBrady and #AntonioBrown, was reportedly the 20th-selling on the team just a few weeks ago. According to Forbes, the only two players who have a had a fastener surge in jersey sales is NY receiver #OdellBeckhamJr and Dallas RB Ezekiel Elliot.
Over the weekend, celebrities including rapper #JCole and singer #TreySongz were spotted wearing and performing in Kaepernick’s jersey, a move many assumed to be in support of his movement.
While a number of videos of fans burning Kaepernick’s jerseys have surfaced on social media in the days following the start of his protest, the love and support for the cause is clearly beginning surge. Will you be getting a Colin Kaepernick jersey this season?
