Colin Kaepernick NOT Being Investigated For Sexual Assault, Cops Say No Evidence Of A Crime

Yesterday news broke that Colin Kaepernick was being investigated for his role in an alleged sexual assault in Miami earlier this month. You can catch up on that story HERE.

Now, I will NEVER say that someone doesn’t “look” like a rapist, or that they are “too fine to have to take sex” or even that “they don’t seem like the type” because rape has no face nor a type. There’s no universal look of a sexual predator. What DID make me skeptical of the entire case is (based on what we were told) that the woman was claiming to have been sexually assaulted but never once mentioned a crime taking place. She never mentions any sexual encounters, she even said to her knowledge Kaepernick and his friends left the room and left her alone. It looks like Miami authorities shared the same sentiments because Kaepernick is no longer under investigation.

Miami police say TMZ took the incident report out of context and there is no evidence of a crime, much less a sexual assault.

The incident report said, on April 1, a woman was at the apartment of Seahawks receiver Ricardo Lockette with Kaepernick and 49ers receiver Quinton Patton. She drank with the players, alleges she was encouraged to smoke marijuana and woke up in a hospital room without knowing how she got there. Miami police spokesman Rene Pimental said none of the three NFL players involved in the April 1 incident were arrested, charged or even questioned, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

“There’s no evidence of a crime or a sexual assault,” Pimental told the Mercury News. “This report is simply an incident report taken at the woman’s request. … there are no specific allegations of wrongdoing.”

The incident report said the woman felt lightheaded after watching a basketball game on television with the players so she went to a bedroom. Kaepernick, who had had a previous sexual relationship with the woman according to the Mercury News’ citation of the incident report, started to kiss and undress her. He left her naked in the bedroom, the woman said according to the incident report. The two did not have sex that night, she told police. She said she woke up in a hospital, unsure of how she got there, according to the Mercury News.

Looks to me she filed a report because she has no idea how she ended up in the hospital. Waking up in a hospital can definitely be frightening so I can understand being scared. I can also see her covering her basis, making sure she wasn’t raped but this was obviously a situation where the media (TMZ) got it way wrong!
