Meek Mill is reportedly in good spirits, according to Colin Kaepernick, despite being sentenced to two to four years in prison for violating probation. The former 49ers quarterback reached out to the Philly rapper to express his support and in turn received a message from Meek to send out to his fans.

“Spoke to Meek Mill & he wanted ppl to know regardless of his unjust situation, he’s in good spirits & humbled by the support the people have shown him,” Kaepernick tweeted.

“We’ll continue to fight against the harsh sentencing practices that have affected Meek & millions of other POC for generations.”

The rapper was locked up earlier this month for violating probation, stemming from a 2008 drug and weapons arrest. Since then, many have gathered in protests of the harsh sentence that was passed down for the rapper.v
