The Met Gala is back with a bold new theme and a lineup of co-chairs ready to shake things up.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has revealed the official theme for 2025: Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, an exhibition that’s all about Black men’s undeniable impact on fashion through the lens of dandyism.
According to Vogue, the exhibition is inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion, and will celebrate Black style from the 18th century to now, with garments, paintings, and photographs that highlight the evolution of dapper looks in Black culture.
As if the theme wasn’t cool enough, the lineup of co-chairs is even more star-studded.
Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell, and the Gala queen herself, Anna Wintour, are setting the stage for an unforgettable night.
Additionally, LeBron James is making his Met Gala debut as an honorary co-chair, and he’s bringing serious star power to fashion’s biggest night.
The exhibition will be on view from May 6 through October 26, 2025, and while we don’t know the exact dress code just yet, expect 2025’s Gala to be full of Black excellence and style.
