A Colorado man who threatened to kill House Speaker Nancy Pelosi last week drove all the way to Washington, D.C., with the intent to take part in the riot at the U.S. Capitol, came armed with an assault rifle, handgun, and 2,500 rounds of ammunition.
According to The Denver Post, Cleveland Grover Meredith Jr. was charged with making the threat and illegally possessing a gun and ammunition last week.
A federal criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia claims that he made the threats but missed the opportunity to participate in the riot because he had to stop for car repairs during the cross country drive.
Meredith arrived in D.C. too late on Jan. 6 and revealed in a text message the next day that he wanted to āput a bullet in (Pelosiās) noggin,ā among a variety of other threats, the complaint detailed.
Meredithās stockpile of ammunition included at least 320 āarmor-piercingā rounds. Meredith reportedly listed his residence as a Colorado address, but the Atlanta Journal-Constitution claims he lived in Georgia and was flagged in that state back in 2018 after erecting a billboard to support the QAnon conspiracy theory.
