Despite a heart warming Instagram post that came just days before he was kicked to the curb for allegedly cheating, actor Columbus Short denies ever even being married to Karrine Steffans.
“When we say ‘wife,’ we wanna keep that term loose,” Short tells Sirius/XM host Dion Deezy. “I care about that woman but people have to learn when blessings come into their life, to accept those blessings.”
He also goes on to discuss the cheating scandal and how he didn’t approve of Karrine coming for him, or any of the women she supposedly accused him of sleeping with. One of those women was Candice Boyd, an R&B singer/songwriter. “Candice is on track of being that next Mary J Blige or Whitney,” said Short. “My relationship with Candice was never a secret. I love Candice. That’s my heart. That’s my soul. Talking about cheating, talking about fidelity in general with the person we’re talking about is kind of laughable. [I don’t agree with] tarnishing people’s name that have nothing to do with you or your relationship. Nobody did nothing to that girl.”
Columbus says he doesn’t cheat, but also makes it seem like maybe his definition and Karrine’s definition of cheating are just two different things. When asked what was going through his mind when Karrine was throwing his things out and recording him, Columbus says, “You know what I was thinking, brotha? If I move, I’m going to jail.” He goes on to claim that Karrine knew that he was almost done cleaning up all of his old legal mess, and she was just trying to reel him back in.
