The L.A. City Attorney’s Office has dropped the domestic violence charges against Columbus Short in his latest legal battle.
The office told TMZ that after prosecutors reviewed the case, they decided not to proceed with the charges. They wouldn’t elaborate on the specifics of their decision.
Columbus also spoke with the outlet, saying, “They dismissed the case from what I was told because the prosecutor felt there was no wrongdoing.”
“I knew when I was charged it was stupid but based on past allegations they jumped to the worst conclusion, as does the media.” He also insists he’s never abused a woman.
Columbus, who’s starring in Hulu’s “Remember Me,” was arrested in February after police were called to his home over an argument he had with his wife. Apparently, things got physical.
He was charged with two misdemeanor counts, including one for domestic violence and one for child endangerment.
This wasn’t the first time he was arrested for domestic violence. In 2018, he was arrested and charged with domestic violence after he was accused of hitting his wife at the time, Aida Abramyan. Things were also nasty between the actor and his ex-wife, Tanee Short; evidently, in 2013, they had blowout fights that also resulted in his arrest.
