According to reports, prosecutors are now pursuing criminal charges against actor Columbus Short following his arrest related to domestic violence.
Earlier this month, Short was arrested after police were called to his home after a physical altercation he had with his wife.
Initially, his case was presented to the L.A. County D.A. for potential felony charges, but the case was later turned over to the city attorney, who charged him with two misdemeanor counts – one for child endangerment and one for domestic violence.
Reports also say Short was charged with child endangerment after the alleged incident occurred in front of a child.
Police say Short did not have any marks or bruises, despite claiming that his wife had punched him in the face. They did note his wife had a small scratch on her finger — and she told police that Short had tried to grab her phone.
In 2018, Short spent 34 days in jail for domestic violence.
As of now, Short has yet to appear in court, and it is unclear when his trial will take place.
