Columbus Short’s character in Scandal hangs in the balance and after 3 other arrests in the last 3 months, all violent incidents, Short finally felt it was time he spoke up — as much as he could.
In an statement issued Thursday, Columbus Short briefly touches on claims that he held a knife to his wife’s throat and threatened to kill her if she did not name who she was allegedly having an affair with.
“As you all know, lately my personal life has been subjected to a lot of press. As much as I would like to provide my side of events, my counsel has instructed me that a Court of law is the only and proper venue to deal with such matters,” Short said in the statement.
“Accordingly, I must refrain from making any comments even though that is very difficult for me under the circumstances. Thank you to my fans for your continued support during this difficult time.”
According to his estranged wife Tuere Short, Columbus has been increasingly violent in the last few months. Prior to the bar fight in March, Tuere says on February 3rd Columbus choked her before chasing her around the house and threatening her. Then again on February 18th, the two had an argument where he pushed her and yelled at her to leave the house. He shattered her cell phone and Tuere had to use the Nanny’s cell phone to call the police. The two share a 2 year old daughter who was present during the April 7th “Truth or Truth” incident.
Why she keeps staying, I don’t understand. They should have gotten that divorce a LONG time ago.
