For about a week now, Snoop Dogg has been in the headlines for agreeing to perform for Trump‘s Crypto Ball ahead of his inauguration.
The event was held in Washington, D.C., and also saw rappers Rick Ross and Soulja Boy, while Nelly took the stage at the Liberty Ball on January 20th. While the attendees seemed to enjoy the performances, many fans called them out with Snoop receiving the majority of the backlash and being labeled a “sellout.”

Despite the criticism, Snoop still had some supporters on his side standing up for him. One in particular is comedian Eddie Griffin who recently expressed his opinions about Snoop’s performance. During the latest episode of Griffin’s “NNN” podcast, the comedian took a moment to address the naysayers who continue to speak negatively about Snoop.
“Black Twitter is up in arms cause Snoop performed at Donald Trump pregame inauguration,” he said. “So, what’s the problem? Y’all didn’t get mad when Kamala lying ass Harris paid $20 million to Oprah to make an appearance.”
Griffin continued, “He got paid. He’s in the business to get paid. He got the right to jump ship. F*ck them [demoncrats]! The rest of you motherf*cking get your sh*t together.”
Additionally, Griffin also gave Trump his credit for making changes, especially to child support. “He already saved you,” Griffin added. “From child support to tereny from a woman who’s raping your check before you even get it. They doing you just like the got d*mn government. F*cking you out of your got d*mn money. Trump took care of that.”
Nonetheless, Snoop recently came forward to defend his decision to perform at the ball. In an Instagram video posted on Sunday, Snoop addressed the hate directly and made it clear that he is “still 100% black.”
“For all the hate, I’m going to answer with love,” he said. “Get your life right, stop worrying about mine. I’m cool. I’m together. Still a Black man. Still 100% Black. All out ’til you ball out or ’til you fall out.”
