Comedian George Lopez is under fire with Trump supporters after making a joke regarding the $80 million bounty that Iran has allegedly placed on Trump’s head.
An Instagram account posted the claim about the $80 million bounty that was made during Gen. Qasem Soleimani’s televised funeral, the top Iranian official who was killed in an airstrike ordered by Donald Trump. As of now, the bounty has not been endorsed by the Iranian government or Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
However, in response to the post, Lopez commented, “We’ll do it for half,” highlighting the longstanding stereotypes about Mexican workers. The comment was quickly met with backlash from supporters of Trump, and “Arrest George Lopez” was trending much of Monday morning.

Fox News reached out to Lopez’s representatives for comment, who explained that the comment remark was simply “a joke.”
But, this is not the first time that Lopez has made his disdain for Trump known. In 2018, he was charged after a fight with a Trump supporter in a New Mexico Hooters, after the man was voicing pro-Trump views.
