Comedian Lavell Crawford Says Celebs Are Making Themselves Look Guilty By Responding To Katt Williams Allegations: “When You Chime In On Stuff, It Just Makes It More Valid” [Video]

Lavell Crawford speaks out on the controversy surrounding Katt Williams recent statements.

Earlier this week, during a recent episode of the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, the actor-comedian targeted fellow comedians Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey, and Rickey Smiley. Williams expressed to host Shannon Sharpe his desire to counter the false statements made about him by “low-brow comedians,” referring to Cedric, Harvey, and Smiley as a”gang.”

While many celebs have come forward, seemingly debunking Williams’ claims, comedian Lavell Crawford is showing support to his fellow peer.

On Friday, Crawford took to his Instagram account to give his standpoint on the entire situation. In a 16-minute video, Crawford said, “I don’t have no beef with nobody and if i do, we’ll holler. I ain’t one of them n*ggas that walk around with this energy. And I think Katt is one them cats that don’t either. He say there names and ain’t afraid to do it.”

Crawford went on to recall a past encounter he had with Williams that led to “the best compliment” he’s gotten.

“He gave me the best compliment ever,” Crawford began. “He said I became famous off my stand up alone.”

Nevertheless, Crawford feels as though celebs should stop commenting on things if they’re not true because responding to negativity can make them look guilty.

“When you chime in on stuff, it just makes it more valid,” he added. “If it ain’t true, all the money you got and all the blessings you got, why you on Instagram going ‘that ain’t true.’ You making yourself look guilty.”
