Paul Mooney, the legendary comedian, actor and writer has died. He was 79.
Mooney died Wednesday in his Oakland home around 5:30 a.m., his family confirmed to journalist and host Roland Martin.
It was also confirmed that Mooney had been suffering from dementia for some time and was staying with a family member.
Mooney’s official Twitter account shared the following message: “Thank you all from the bottom of all of our hearts …you’re all are the best!…… Mooney World .. The Godfather of Comedy – ONE MOON MANY STARS! .. To all in love with this great man.. many thanks”
