Connecticut Drug Bust Yields $15 Million Worth Of Marijuana

Two individuals from Reston, Virginia, were arrested after police discovered $15 million worth of marijuana in a storage unit, CBS News reports.

The storage facility was used as an illegal hub for the distribution in the northeast part of West Haven, authorities reported.

The FBI and the DEA assisted the local police to bust the duo, finding 1,700 pounds of marijuana on Wednesday by stopping a U-Haul truck during their investigation. It was also discovered that the individuals were working their operations internationally.

“The investigation revealed that individuals were utilizing a storage facility in West Haven as a hub to distribute large quantities of marijuana throughout the tri-state area,” West Haven police said in a statement, referring to the area that includes Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey.

Jourdan Maniray, 23, and Iā€™real Jones, 20, have been charged with possession with the intent to sell, as well as possession of a controlled substance.
