Meek Mill has been slammed with another setback in his longstanding fight for justice.

According to NY Daily News, the controversial judge on the rapper’s case has just denied his request for reconsideration. The same judge that Meek’s legal team has campaigned against to be removed from the case over bias and her own personal vendetta against Meek has shut down the request to reevaluate the harsh sentence and refused to step down from the case.
Judge Genece E. Brinkley handed down her decision on Monday and stood firm in the rapper’s harsh ruling of two to four years, claiming it was “absolutely necessary” after his probation violation.
“Defendant received proper notice of all alleged probation violations in advance of his hearing,” Brinkley said. “The sentence imposed was not manifestly excessive and this Court stated sufficient reasons on the record to support a state sentence of 2 to 4 years.”

In turn, the rapper’s lawyer told the publication that the ruling just proves she has a grudge against his client, “This ruling from Judge Genece Brinkley simply reaffirms the fact she has turned Meek Mill’s case into a personal vendetta.”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“In spite of the recommendations from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office,” Joe Tacopina continued, “which was supported by Governor Tom Wolf, the judge continues to stand alone in supporting Officer Reginald Graham’s perjured testimony as well as his criminal behavior that has been documented.”

However, Brinkley denied allegations of having a personal vendetta against the rapper over their ties to Philly and favors.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“This bald allegation has no basis in reality,” Brinkley said of Meek’s legal team’s claim that she asked Meek to change management and give her a shout-out on a Boyz II Men remix. “The court has repeatedly told Defendant that he cannot demand special treatment just because he has chosen to be an entertainer.”

Despite the minor setback, Meek’s team is determined to fight for justice for the rapper. According to the publication, the team is prepared to appeal the decision to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
