While it seems there has been mass anticipation surrounding Jay Z & Beyoncé’s upcoming “On The Run Tour”, it appears that the sales numbers aren’t translating that.
According to Ticketmaster, ticket sales for the shows summer tour have been average, and are not moving as expected, and it happens to be at the top cities in the U.S. that usually sell out quickly. With the tour’s first stop to take place in Miami on Wednesday, June 25th, many are wondering why two superstars have been unable to sellout venues.
With so much bad publicity from the Solange Met Gala incident could have deterred buyers, I speculate the ticket prices for “good” seating could be the real factor. That said, Jay & Bey have recently added more shows to the tour, including an additional show in Los Angeles and another in Paris. Only time will tell especially considering Billboard has reported as of June 17, the tour has racked up about $86 million in ticket sales and is on a pace to gross close to $100 million from just 19 shows. Guess we’ll just wait on the final numbers and see.
