23 years ago to date, rapper Craig Mack released his debut studio album, ‘Project: Funk da World’.
As the second album release on Bad Boy Records, released just one week after The Notorious B.I.G.’s ‘Ready to Die’, Mack’s album was a major success eventually reaching Gold-RIAA sales.
The album’s debut single, “Flava In Ya Ear,” showcased Mack’s skillful alliteration and his charismatic flow. To this day, the song still remains one of the most popular songs of the era, having sold 1,000,000 copies in the U.S. and peaking at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The second single from the album, “Get Down,” was just as successful making it to the Top 40 chart.
