Child-Sex Crimes Investigation In South Carolina Leads To 16 People Charged

Sixteen people have been arrested on child-sex charges following an investigation in South Carolina.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce came together with local, state, and federal agencies to launch Operation X-Posed. The child-sex crimes investigation led to the arrest of 16 people by Mount Pleasant police.

According to ABC 4 News, the operating lasted for seven days. Sixteen men involved in the crimes have been arrested. Chief Deputy Tyrone Simmons says eight of the perpetrators unknowingly spoke to undercover cops over and the other eight traveled to Mount Pleasant.

“The operation, called Operation X-Posed, specifically sought out those on the internet that were soliciting children between the ages of 12 and 14 for the purpose of sex,” Simmons said. “One of the defendants that were arrested was out of jail on bond for the same charges from our last operation that we did.”
