The custody battle between Robin Thicke and Paula Patton, over their 6-year-old son Julian, has gotten messier. From Patton’s previous claims of excessive physical punishment to Thicke’s claims of emotional abuse, the two have been on the outs, trading insults and allegations in regards to the welfare of their son.
Just last month, the actress’ nanny called the police, asking them to intervene as Thicke had been violating the terms of the restraining order placed on him. While the former couple had been trying to settle the custody agreements, concerning their 6-year-old, by organizing monitored visits and such, the call revealed that Julian did not want to visit his father.
“We need you guys to just intervene because we have a court order document that the child doesn’t want to go with his father, he doesn’t have to go…,” the caller, who identified herself as the child’s nanny, said to the dispatcher. “We need you to come and enforce the order. We have a restraining order, the person is within the distance of the restraining order, he’s in violation of it currently.”
“This child is literally begging me and everyone else to call 911. That’s how much he does not want to go,” she added, in the audio obtained by TMZ. “He’s 6-years-old, and literally every time he has these visits, the night before, the day before, he’s crying, he’s praying to angels, he’s trying to avoid it like the plague. It needs to end.”
However, despite the details of the call, sources say Robin believes Patton has been trying to taint his image in the eyes of Julian, subsequently trying to drive a wedge between the two. If you recall, a judge granted the actress a temporary restraining order against the singer in January, giving Patton sole custody. According to the terms of the order, Thicke was required to stay away from Patton and Julian, unless it was during his supervised visitation.
At the time of the incident, sources close to the singer told PEOPLE that Patton showed up an hour late and did not allow her son to leave with the court-appointed monitor. The source then confirmed that the nanny did call the police, but that Patton had left before the officials got there.
“He was not in violation of the restraining order,” the source added. “Robin never left his designated spot while waiting for Julian. He’s followed the same protocol they follow every single week, and that time and location and protocol was agreed to by both parties.”
